This song was honestly not one I really ever planned on recording, but after playing it to Kris he encouraged me to do it, and I'm now very glad that he did. I wanna thank him for lending me his words of wisdom and cups of tea through the recording process.
lyrics
I bite my tongue, to stop myself professing love.
The words are too weighted for me to comprehend.
I try to contact you but I do it with a glance,
I do it with the silences we share when no one's looking.
No one's checking in.
Maybe you see right through me
Logic pulls the thought away again
But it's fun to just day dream
When no one in my head can see the mess I'm in
No one in my head can see the mess I'm in
You took a heart and finally unlocked it's
open in arms length, you don't even clock it
You took a soul that wandered alone and
gave her a partner, didn't even bother to
Realise you're doing it
No you don't even realise you're doing it
Realise you're doing it
My eyesight gets tainted
when you step into a room
All I see is you
And there's nothing I can do
Give me something new
to hold onto tightly,
to dream of nightly,
Just a crumb.
I can't always have it all,
I can't have my cake and eat it too,
But my hand longs for yours,
It would be so funny if it wasn't true,
Yeah no one in my head can see my point of view.
You took a heart and finally unlocked it's
open in arms length, you don't even clock it
You took a soul that wandered alone and
gave her a partner, didn't even bother to
Realise you're doing it
No you don't even realise you're doing it
Realise you're doing it
What am I to do with this?
(What am I to do with this? What am I to do?)
(What am I to do with this? What am I to do?)
(What am I to do with this? What am I to do?)
(What am I to do with this? What am I to do?)
What am I to do with this? I don't know but I'll hold
onto the pain you gave, till I find out.
Pick me up and pull me down again
Make my heart play beats way out of time
My thoughts become the ultimate weapon
Slowly tearing down my peace of mind
Slowly tearing down my peace of mind
You took a heart and finally unlocked it's
open in arms length, you don't even clock it
You took a soul that wandered alone and
gave her a partner, didn't even bother to
Realise you're doing it
No you don't even realise you're doing it
Realise you're doing it
What am I to do with this?
These lovely ladies are friends and mentors of mine. Their debut album "Dark Gives Way" is one of the most candid comments on love, loss and life I've ever heard. Truly beautiful music. Check it out! Gabbi Bolt
The Safety of Life at Sea are another local band to my area. Their music is a little boogie and I particularly love this album because of it's fun nature. They're also great, lovely people to boot! Gabbi Bolt
This lady is like a mum to me! Genni Kane, now operating out of Millthorpe NSW, has written this beautiful album called Selfies. You HAVE to listen to this. Her voice *kisses fingers in appreciation* Gabbi Bolt
